UNIST Quantum Nanopap shows the possibility of next-generation quantum technology Expanding with researchers.


Hello, and a warm welcome to everyone visiting the UNIST Quantum-Nano FAB homepage.
Originally established as a university cleanroom when UNIST was founded in 2009, our facility grew with the construction of a Class 100 Super Clean Room (approx. 1,300㎡) in 2016 and its incorporation into the Korea Institute of Nanotechnology Cooperation (KION) in 2021. In March 2026, with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT and the IITP, it reopened as a national quantum research infrastructure backed by a total investment of 30 billion KRW.
Over the past 18 years, our nano-fab has served as an open process platform for researchers from some 60 institutions, delivering around 30,000 process services annually and training over 800 independent-use researchers. Building on our nano- and semiconductor expertise, we have now added quantum-device process equipment and analysis systems to become a one-stop open quantum process hub spanning the full cycle of design, fabrication, analysis, verification, and demonstration.
We make three commitments: Openness, providing a self-service environment for academia, research, and industry alike; Expertise, through dedicated staff averaging over 10 years of experience; and Connectivity, serving as a bridge that turns research into real technology and industry.
